Mindful meandering and wellbeing walks in the Arun District

When life gets busy, it’s often the case that we forget the beauty around us. The changing seasons, budding trees, melodic songbirds, infinite shades of green, longer evenings, lighter mornings and a change of pressure and warmth in the air, all do their best to entice us outside. 

 

For many of us, life’s challenges and the pace of everyday life can get in the way of enjoying what is on our doorstep. However, being aware and present in our surroundings, to feel a moment of calm or escape from the daily routines or chores and appreciate the low cost, high value benefits of our beautiful Arun District can work wonders. From stunning vistas to fresh air, incredible wildlife and nature at its best. All are free to enjoy if you have the chance.

 

Mental Health Awareness Week (15-21st May) has some fantastic resources to support mental wellbeing. Being in nature and enjoying regular exercise are included in their suggested 10 tips to boost your wellbeing

 

Walking is a great way to look after your wellbeing, being amongst nature is the perfect opportunity to find a moment of calm, be present in the natural environment and get fit in the process!

Whatever the weather or season, you'll find family friendly fun on and around the sand and shingle beaches of Littlehampton and Bognor Regis. There are plenty of activities within a pebble’s throw of the beach, with seaside parks and greens, organised events in peak seasons, great food and drink options as well as town centres and transport links within walking distance.
